Viagra, Cialis, Levitra & Intrinsa Dosages

Any medication you buy is bound to help you, but a certain amount of care and vigilance is needed on your part too.

Taking the right kind of medicine at the right time at the right dosage helps reduce the chances of side effects. Also taking the right dosage at right time ensures the medication will be working at its best in your body.

To avoid interactions between drugs, watch out for product package tampering, and ask your doctor or the pharmacist about the dosage amount or any other concerns you may have.

The most important thing for you to know is what the drug is, how to use it, what dosage should be taken and what reactions to watch out for?

Before you buy any medication, get answers to the following:

  • What is the drug and what is it prescribed for?
  • Will there be a problem with other drugs I am taking?
  • How often and for how long do I need to take it?
  • What if I miss a dosage?
  • What side effects does it have and how soon will it start working?

Ask your doctor or pharmacist to help you get answers to the above questions.

Another great idea is to check the prescription after it has been filled. Does the medication look right? Is it the colour and size you were expecting? If not, ask the pharmacist to explain.

Dosage – Viagra

Viagra is available in three dosage forms of 25mg, 50mg and 100mg. Dosage is generally determined and altered by your doctor. Buy Viagra in the same dosage as prescribed by your doctor.

If you are just starting treatment, you doctor will recommended the lowest dosage and then move you up and increase the dosage if he/she feels the need. However, if the low dosage works for you there is no need to increase the dosage.

You can take your prescribed dosage of Viagra with or without meals.

Dosage – Levitra

Levitra comes in smaller dosages (5, 10, and 20mg) and has fewer side effects, and delivers a faster reaction time as compared to Viagra. According to clinical studies and researches, patients taking Levitra began experiencing results in 30 minutes or less.

Dosage  – Cialis

Cialis is available in two dosage forms of 10mg and 20mg respectively; your dosage is normally determined by your doctor. Cialis dosage should not exceed more than one pill a day. Increasing Cialis dosage does not mean greater success; it just means you are increasing your chances of side effects.

Dosage – Intrinsa Patches

The active substance in Intrinsa patches is testosterone. Each patch contains 8.4 mg of testosterone, releasing 300 micrograms of testosterone over a period of 24 hours. Intrinsa patches should be changed every 3 – 4 days i.e. twice a week.

Thus, if you have applied Intrinsa patch on Monday, you should change it on Thursday.

Whether it’s a prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) drug, taking the right dosage of medicine is very important. Given incorrectly, drugs may be ineffective or harmful.
